In a warrant affidavit, a St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office detective wrote that she was working undercover, portraying both an 11-year-old female child and an adult dad, when Roger Curtis Crews, 39, of Starke contacted her.
Crews later was arrested by Bradford deputies as a result of the sting operation for two counts of attempting to solicit, lure, or entice a person believed to be a parent, legal guardian, or custodian of a child to consent to the participation of such child…in sexual conduct.
“A subject initiated contact with the adult dad via a social networking site and then transitioned to text via cellular phone,” the detective wrote in the affidavit. “During the conversation, the suspect ‘Roger’ initiated a sexually explicit conversation with the (undercover dad), detailing what sexual acts he wanted to do to the (undercover dad’s) underage child.”
