Blue Water Bay in Melrose was temporarily shut down by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) following a July 16 health inspection that identified 21 violations, including seven classified as high priority.
The seven high-priority violations documented during the inspection included:
- Ready-to-eat, time/temperature-controlled for safety food kept beyond the seven-day limit after preparation or opening.
- Evidence of rodent activity in an unattached storage building used for dry food and alcohol storage, where inspectors observed five rodent droppings on a cardboard box and rodent rub marks along the walls and ceiling.
