The President of the Lake Region Development Corporation proposed building a fishing pier at Keystone Beach.
Vivian James asked the city council to pitch in $25,000 of the estimated $165,000 to $220,000 total project cost. She said that the actual cost of the platform will depend on the features installed, adding that an optional jet ski port would cost $18,000.
James asked that the city tap its Lake Account budget line item for the 25 grand. She added that she already has around $24,000 for the project from a Keystone Volunteer Fire Department grant and will be seeking money from the Save Our Lakes board of directors, Chemours, and other sources.
The aluminum floating structure would be 150 feet long with a 40-foot gangway.
