LAKE BUTLER— The Union County Sheriff’s Office said U.S. Marshals apprehended a man wanted for a March 19 murder in Lake Butler.
Anthony George was arrested around 9 a.m. on Monday, March 28 in Gainesville.
The sheriff’s office said he would be booked into the Alachua County Jail before taken back to Lake Butler.
The office said that around 10 p.m. on Saturday, March 19, George shot three people. One of the victims: 35-year-old William L. Hope died from his injuries.
