Wayne Addison Sr.

Wayne Dewight Addison Sr., 77, of Bradford County died Sunday, April 26, 2026. He was preceded in death by his parents, DeWitt Addison, Ottis McKinney, and Dorothy Parrish Jones.
Survivors are his wife, Sharlene Addison; children, Wayne (Angela) Addison Jr., Rebecca (Lionel) Griffis, and Wesley (Evelina) Addison; two brothers; one sister; 13 grandchildren; and extended family members.
Services will be Thursday, April 30, at 6 p.m. at Archie Tanner Memorial Chapel. The family will receive friends Thursday, April 30, from 5 p.m. until 6 p.m.

Connie Barnes

Connie Leona Barnes, born July 17, 1952, passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 22, 2026. She was born in Avon Park and later made her home in Starke, where she built a life filled with love alongside the love of her life, David Alex Barnes. She and David were married on July 7, 1969, sharing 57 years together as they raised their family. Connie was a faithful member of Bayless Highway Baptist Church and lived her life rooted in faith and devotion. She was the owner and operator of Noah’s Ark Daycare for many years, where she cared for and nurtured countless children in the community. She also served as the finance manager for Noegel’s Auto Sales. She had a special gift for gardening, especially tending to her beautiful flowers. She also enjoyed sewing and quilting. More than anything, Connie had a deep love for her family. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her children and grandchildren, whom she cherished dearly. She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her loving heart, and the warmth she brought into the lives of those around her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gladys Bennett and Paul Bennett; and grandson, David Alex Barnes II.
She is survived by her loving husband, David Barnes, of Starke; daughter, Linda (Mike) Collins of Starke, Florida; son, David (Wendy) Barnes of Starke; sisters, Linda (Lynn) Luther, Paula (Ron) Pedigo, and Rhonda Bennett (Bobby) Carter; grandchildren, Taylor (Jake) Pickett, Dalton (Taylor) Cassell, Kyleigh Jones, and Jacob (Jessica) Hartley; great-grandchildren, Jackson Pickett, Kyson Floyd-Wilson, and Emberleigh Hartley; along with several extended family members and dear friends.
Connie’s family celebrated her life Tuesday, April 28, at Bayless Highway Baptist Church, Starke, with Pastor Mike Conner officiating. The family received friends 30 minutes prior to the service.

Lee Cook
Mr. Lee Alba Cook, 85, formerly of Starke, died Thursday, April 23, 2026, at his home. He was born Oct. 28, 1940, in Starke to the late Theodore and Lena (Lavendar) Cook and served in the United States Marine Corp.
Survivors are children, Tanya Aguilar, Patrick Cook, Lisa Johnson, and Jonathan Brenton; siblings, Ethel Thomas, Linda Fortenberry, and Leonard Cook; and extended family.
There are no formal services scheduled at this time.

Sandra Galloway
Sandra Kay Galloway, 66, of Keystone Heights died Sunday, April 19, 2026. She was preceded in death by her parents, Orbin and Wanda Spencer; and her sister, Martha Whitsitt.
Survivors are her husband, Robert “Bob” Galloway; daughter, Christi (Jacob); two grandchildren, Jordyn and Jackson; five siblings; and extended family

Robert Phillips
Robert Thomas Phillips, 65, of Starke died Tuesday, April 21, 2026. He and his wife, Linda, raised three sons, Robert S. Phillips, Dwayne (Krystle) Phillips, and Chad Phillips. Other survivors are six grandchildren; and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Minnie Bell Phillips; and brother, Randy Busby.
He was laid to rest at Keystone Heights Cemetery.

Priscilla Ricks

Priscilla Ann McCall Ricks, 95, was called home to be with her Lord Friday, April 24, 2026. Ann was born Sept. 25, 1930, in Ocala to Wiley Eli and Maude (Ratliff) McCall and grew up in Oneco, the youngest of the McCall clan. She enjoyed roller skating every night except Sunday and playing basketball, making the All-Star conference two years in a row. She played guard for Jack’s Cookies after high school. After her marriage to Jimmy Ricks II, she moved to Starke, where they raised their four children. She worked tirelessly to get the three youngest boys through high school after her husband passed away suddenly. She was a lifelong member of Laura Baptist Church (Christ Church of Starke) and an avid Florida Gator fan. Later in her life she moved to Jacksonville and was known as “Granny.” She was a selfless, giving soul who loved being at catering events helping her son, Jimmy, in any way she could. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James D. Ricks II; along with siblings, Faye Graves, Frances Overstreet, Ruth LaGrange, Wiley Eli McCall Jr., and Jean Alday.
Survivors are her children, Pamela Ann (Tony) Venezia, James D. (Debbie) Ricks III, Stephen (Kathy, deceased) Ricks Sr. and William Anthony (Annette) Ricks. She was lovingly called “Granny” by six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Friday May 1, at 11 a.m. at DeWitt C. Jones Chapel with Mr. Jason Crawford officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 10 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow at Kingsley Lake Cemetery. The family is requesting that you wear orange and blue attire to honor Mrs. Ricks.

Kim Shannon

Kim Dee Shannon, son of Bobby and Jean Shannon, was born Nov. 7, 1955. He passed away Wednesday, April 15, 2026. Kim graduated from Ocala High School. He joined the Navy for four years. Upon completion of his Navy service in 1981, he went to Tampa’s electronics school. He then worked for Arrow Shirt factory in Atlanta, Georgia. Tired of the big city, he returned to Florida to work at Kingsley Lake for Roger Bergman as a jack-of-all-trades, lifeguard, maintenance, etc. Later he worked in Gainesville as a maintenance man for apartments. Then he worked for Bakers Distributing. Later, he went out on disability. Kim loved living in Florida, fishing, and swimming. He did repairs for his parents’ home. He also loved to work on his truck or car. In June 1983, he and his mom went to Scotland to visit family. Kim always helped anyone that he could. That just was the way he was. He had a lot of friends, never married. He was proceeded in death by his father, Bobby Shannon; and brother, Billy Shannon.
He is survived by his mother Jean Shannon; brother, Robby (Kathy); sister, Jenny (John) Harper; and nieces and nephews, Andy Harper, Kayleigh Harper, Skylar Harper, Brittany (Kenneth) Lewis, Hunter (Amanda) Shannon, James (Hannah) Shannon, and Christopher (Carleigh) Shannon.
Memorial services will be held Saturday May 2, at 2 p.m. at Bethel Baptist church in Starke.
